The University of Minnesota Medical School congratulates Dr. Jafar Golzarian from the Department of Radiology on being selected to receive the 2018 Honorary Member of Chinese College of Interventionalists (CCI)—the highest honor awarded by the society.

In the notification letter, Dr. Gao-Jun Teng, President of CCI stated, “This honor is bestowed to those individuals who have rendered exceptional service to the field of interventional medicine and have dedicated their talents to advancing the quality of patient care with their outstanding achievements through the practice of interventional medicine.”

Dr. Golzarian is the Director of the Division of Interventional Radiology & Vascular Imaging in the University of Minnesota Department of Radiology and an active researcher specializing in interventional treatment of peripheral artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms, uterine fibroid embolization, hepatocellular carcinoma, prostate artery embolization and varicocele embolization.

“Dr. Golzarian is a prominent leader in the field of Interventional Radiology,” said Charles Dietz, MD, Head of the Department of Radiology. “His induction to the Chinese College of Interventionalists again reminds me how privileged we are to have a physician of his caliber in our Department .”
